Roof tiles differ in age, finish and condition. The site visit checks visible moss growth, damaged areas, access and nearby features. Cleaning is not a repair service; existing damage may need a roofer before cleaning can proceed.
Options to discuss may include manual moss removal, controlled low-pressure cleaning or treatment of organic growth. These are not suitable for every roof. We explain which approach is appropriate before quoting; high-pressure washing is not a default recommendation.
Roof work can dislodge moss and other debris. The quotation should state how loose material will be collected, which surrounding areas need protection and whether gutter clearance is included. Ask about these items during the visit so they are agreed before work starts.
If a treatment is proposed, ask what it targets, how it is applied, precautions and when results can be expected. Moss and discolouration do not always disappear immediately. Trees, shade and moisture affect how quickly organic growth can return.
